Cranleigh Prep School are Surrey County Biathlon team champions
Having scooped 2 bronze medals in the Surrey Schools Relay Championships in September, the quartet of Jess, Lulu, Maya and Martine looked to continue their impressive start to the new school year. There were 61 contestants, with each individual taking part in an 800m run and a 50m swim.
The best combined run/swim scores ranked Martine Scott in 1st place, Lulu Fulton in 2nd place, Jess Brooke in 4th place and Maya Magee came 18th. Martine, Lulu and Jess, making up the Cranleigh Prep School U12 team claimed the top prize after having the fastest run and fastest swim gold medals.

Hide AdThey will go through to the next stage of trials on 30th November/1st December in Solihull.
Piers Bowden took 1st place at the U13 Boys SE Region Biathlon Championships held at Medway Park on 12th October, with his combined time in a 1600m run and 100m swim. Piers is also through to the next stage of trials in Solihull.
The new Head of Swimming for Cranleigh School, Will Philpot, says “This is an outstanding result for Piers and for the girls at such an early stage in the season too. Having outranked some of the best teams in the country in this competition will give us a great platform to build on for the future.”
Will is the latest addition to the Cranleigh School Sport 7-18 team and is no stranger to the pool, having qualified for 2 Olympic Trials in 2004 and 2008, as well as the Commonwealth Games Trials in 2006.

Hide AdHe reached the National finals finishing in the top 10, won over 10 County Gold medals (in 3 separate counties) and 10 Regional Gold medals.
Will has also played water polo for Crawley in County and Regional tournaments.
