To crown it all, The Royal Engineer Band were playing as well - possibly one of the best military bands in the country. There were even some of our European brothers and sisters there as well.
I stood next to some French people, they were very impressed by the whole show.

Hide AdI watched the Engineers, marching down through the High Street. It brought back a lot of memories for me. The sound was amazing. After they had marched up and down the High Street, they did a marching band display on the Green.
They played Sussex By The Sea, my battalion march, among a few other tunes. I have a lovely picture of myself in the QEMH. When the Band came and played there, I was in the wheelchair. I do not remember it. Dad said they played Sussex by the Sea.
Sussex by the sea, the best place in the world.
