Sun shines on record-breaking school fair
The school’s summer fair, held every year on the village green, was officially opened by Summer Queen, Amy Osmaston of Year 6 followed by some traditional maypole dances performed by pupils.
All in the name of raising funds for PTA, which goes to support the school, the fair provided lots of opportunities for fun and merriment, including children vs teachers tug of war, a coconut shy, soak the teacher game and much more.

Hide AdPTA chairman, Simon Butcher-Collier, said: “We had a record-breaking year with over £6300 being raised for the school. Of course, days like this don’t happen with a lot of support and I would like give everyone involved in the day including our advertisers and sponsors, a big thank you.
“We were very lucky with the weather too and that made a big difference, mostly to how much people enjoyed the day. Many people said they didn’t want the day to end” added Mr Butcher-Collier.
One person who couldn’t wait for the day to end was teacher Mr Loizedes, who was the ‘victim’ of the soak the teacher game. He said, “I think I was the only freezing cold person at the fayre even on such a sunny day!”
The Wisborough Green Primary School PTA raises funds to support the school and the children at it by providing additional resources and funds for school activities. Every penny raised goes back into the local school.
