As I write, the House of Lords has just sent the government back to the drawing board.

Hide AdBut I want your readers to know that the Lib Dem Lords had proposed a motion to kill these cuts off completely.
What it would have taken was for the Labour Party to work with the Liberal Democrats and back this ‘fatal’ motion.
Sadly, I understand that they were instructed to abstain.
The people of Hastings, St Leonards and Rye should know.
