Owner sees dog hit by car
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a German Shepherd was struck by a passing vehicle during an early morning walk with its owner.
The incident happened at 12.50am on Sunday in Cade Street, Heathfield, when the dog was struck by the speeding car.

Hide AdA police spokesman said: 'The incident happened on the B2096 close to the village's community college. It is clear that the driver knew he hit something because of the long tyre marks in the road leading up to the collision location. We would urge anyone who saw anything or knows anything about the incident to call us urgently on 0845 60 70 999.'
The dog was seriously injured in the accident and treated by a local vet.
