Affluence and elderly
There is a greater proportion of older people in the South East of England than in any other region. In Horsham District, there are almost 20,500 older people and this is set to increase to 60 per cent (to 32,800 older people) by 2026.
While Horsham District is notably less deprived than other areas of England, isolation, deprivation and disadvantage is experienced by some older people who live there.

The hope is that this methodology provide some real life case studies, which could be used to suggest changes and to inform decision makers about the needs of older people in the South East
To arrange for the Senior Persons’ Council to run a discussion session with older people or for more information, please contact Pam Mitchell (Regional Operations Manager, Age Concern South East) on 01273 831608 or 07810 155182 or Pam at [email protected]
