Serena, 17, tested positive for coronavirus in October but, thankfully, her symptoms were quite mild and she has made a full recovery.
Moved by stories in the news about NHS staff being completely overwhelmed as a result of the pandemic, she decided to do something to help, like the late Captain Tom.

Their stories on the news, as well Captain Sir Tom’s amazing achievements, really inspired me to make a difference.
“I thought about what I could do and decided to run 100km in 25 days, in 10km stretches, in between studying for my A-levels online at home, to raise money for NHS Charities Together.
“I have enjoyed the challenge but at times it’s been tough as I usually run 5km and below. Until now, I had never run 10km in one stretch.
“It’s also been really muddy around us and my trainers will be ready for the bin! Everyone’s generosity has spurred me on throughout the challenge, especially one friend who said they would double their donation if I ran my personal best. I’m getting faster with this in mind.”

She said: “I can’t believe how kind and supportive everyone has been.”
