Award-winning author donates event profits to Lewes Railway Land Wildlife Trust

The event was organised by members of climate emergency action group Extinction Rebellion Lewes and was hosted at the trust’s Linklater Pavilion.
A spokesman for Extinction Rebellion Lewes said: “The event raised £525 for the charity, which aims to inspire environmental sustainability through its community hub, inclusive outdoor learning and Railway Land nature reserve in the heart of the town.

Hide Ad“Griffiths, author of Wild: an Elemental Journey and Kith: The Riddle of the Childscape, talked with her audience at the sell-out event about human relationships with the living world and the importance of environmental activism in our times.”
Helen Meade, Railway Land Wildlife Trust’s programme co-ordinator, said: “We are so grateful for this donation. The school visits, community events and our mental health project are all so valuable to the local community and this will help us to keep providing opportunities for everyone to understand and connect with the natural world.”
