Christmas cheer for older people across Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and the surrounding area
Mid Sussex Older People’s Council (MSOPC)’s project was sponsored by Sussex Police, the Coomber Trust Lindfield, Rittman Mead and donations from local traders.
Barbara Baldwin, chairman, said: “Because of Covid-19 and the cancellation of all our activities this year including our annual Christmas party, the management committee decided that they would like to do something positive to cheer people up during what has been for many older people, a long and lonely year.

“So many people will be spending Christmas alone this year and the hampers were a way of letting people know that are not forgotten.
“Hopefully we will be back together again next year.
“We know the hampers were much appreciated by those who received them from the feedback and letters and cards of appreciation received.
“But also by the smiles and joy on people’s faces as they were delivered.
“Our thanks also to Haywards Heath Town Council who allowed us to use one of their function rooms to do the packing.”
