Plaistow children plant memorial trees on Armistice Day in act of Remembrance
The event, which took place in partnership with Plaistow and Ifold Parish Council, had originally been due to take place in May, but was delayed due to the lockdown.
County Councillor Janet Duncton attended and laid a poppy wreath and the church’s Licensed Lay Minister Janice Taylor said a few words.

A parish council spokesman said: “The trees will work in harmony with others already on the green to create a contemplation area.
“They will surround a VE Day 75 commemorative bench and the village’s Silent Soldier to provide the community with a designated space to come together, at times such as Remembrance Day, in quiet reflection.
“It will also put the very youngest in our community at the heart of this act of remembrance.
