Noah Canby, Liam Harris and Paul Manser presented Eastbourne RNLI with a cheque of £2,821.17 at the inshore lifeboat station at the weekend.
Treasure Keith Stevens was presented with the money, which was raised as a result of a fundraising page set up by Paul to help raise money to replace Noah’s surfboard that was lost when the trio assisted the crew with a rescue.

The rescue led to the inshore lifeboat capsizing so the surfers stepped in to help until the coastguard helicopter arrived.
A spokesperson for the lifeboat crew said, “We were extremely grateful they were there to help on that day. The response to the GoFundMe appeal has been astounding. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who so kindly donated, we are blown away and very humbled by all the donations to Paul’s GoFundMe appeal and to the RNLI’s appeal towards the repair cost of £5,450.
“We hope to get our inshore lifeboat - Lawrence and Percy Hobbs - back very soon and in the meantime we have a relief inshore lifeboat - The Marjorie Boneham - on station.”
