Hide AdOther findings from the survey showed Owners in general will spend more on a present for their pet (£13.56) than for a grandparent (£12.74), aunt (£10.60) or uncle (£10.48).
It also showed cat owners were slightly more generous, spending an average of £106.29 on their pets compared to £103.51 for dog owners.
Claire Rowe, from Northiam Blue Cross, said: “We urge people to spare a thought for those unwanted and abandoned animals who don’t have a home at this time of year.”
