WEATHER: Isn’t it wonderful that, at last, we are bathed in sunshine for the long daylight hours. The only disadvantage is that one’s plants need more frequent watering. Many plants, if like mine are in pots and not in the ground, dry up rapidly and can die if one is not vigilant. It is also noticeable how much nicer everyone is to each other when the sky is blue and the sun shines. To this I must add one exception. Whilst crossing Sainsbury’s car park an elderly man deliberately shoved me hard with his shoulder. I continued and whilst waiting to use the ATM, he came up behind me and did it again. What was his motive? I can only think he didn’t like women, but why me?
ROADS: There appears to be no logic involved where roads are ripped up and resurfacing occurs. One week it is up for gas maintenance, then resurfaced, and soon after it is the telephones, the water board, or electricity to have it up again. Why doesn’t each one agree to do repairs at the same time then there would be only one disruption and the cost of resurfacing would be minimised. Perhaps if everything were in conduits with access points this disruption could be a thing of the past.
