Hide Adn Next weekend, in the Rye Community Centre, there will be a splendidly colourful production by Ryesingers, of The Pirates of Penzance. This “improbable” story is great fun, full of lovely melodies, and the ladies of the chorus will all be dressed as bridesmaids.
It takes place at 7.30 pm, tickets are £8 available from Martello Bookshop, or at the door. This would be a splendid way to cheer up a winter evening. Performances are on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th.
n Next Wednesday is Ash Wednesday, when there will be a service at St. Michael’s, Playden at 7 pm.
After the feast of Shrove Tuesday pancakes, we are then in the season of Lent. This year the emphasis seems to be on giving more time to something or someone, rather than giving up something.
There will be services at Playden Church at 9.30 am and 3.30 pm on Tuesday.
The 11 am service on Sunday will be Parish Communion lead by the Vicar.
