Record-breaking Rye Bonfire Auction

Society secretary Neale East said: “This magnificent amount will help towards staging Rye Bonfire this year, and helping local community groups.
“Over 80 lots included original drawings of Captain Pugwash from John Ryan, kindly donated by Priscilla Ryan; numerous offers of accommodation and meals in Rye; a flight to Le Touquet, a 50 mile trip with Rye Community Transport; a bottle of whisky signed by Boris Johnson; an original painting of Rye Bay by Rye Bonfire Vice-President and artist Prince Rostislav Romanov and the honour of lighting this year’s bonfire.
