Residents lose fight to protect open space
The land, which was once the site of a boating lake, was used as a space for construction workers, during the building of Splashpoint.

Hide AdAndrew Avison, one of the residents, said he wanted further clarification from the council of the reasons behind the decision.
He said: “I plan to write to the council and ask them to explain the decision point-by-point, in relation to the legislation about public open space.
“If this is not satisfied, then I would consider taking it to a judicial review, or referring it to the ombudsman.”
