REVIEW: Charli XCX thrills on debut UK tour
Opening with a feisty vitriol-filled ‘Sucker’ from her album of the same name, a zebra print-clad Charli energetically zipped around the stage while her all female band, dressed as shimmering angels, rocked away beside her.
Concorde 2 was turned into a sea of hands as the lively crowd responded to the hit-filled set, which included the global smash ‘I don’t care’ and Charli’s favourite track ‘Doing it’ – her single with Rita Ora.

Hide AdThe Boom Clap singer told her adoring audience that her mum was in attendance – and how proud she must’ve been, watching everyone in the sold-out venue sing along to every word of her daughter’s songs.
Not many pop artists can flirt with so many different genres and retain their credibility. Charli’s set incorporated punk, pop, rock, hip-hop and electro – and yet her sound, which is undoubtedly her own, remained completely authentic.
Whatever direction she chooses to go in next, there’s no doubt that Charli has the confidence and talent to make it a success.
