Rustington supermarket’s environmental scheme
The supermarket, at the Rustington Retail Park, in New Road, has cracked open its scheme to recycle Easter egg packaging for the first time.
Sainsbury’s is the first major retailer to introduce such a scheme and Rustington is one of 50 sites across the country giving customers the chance to recycle plastic, card and foil packaging, with the aim of reducing the volume of waste going to landfill sites.

The scheme follows in the wake of last year’s Christmas card recycling drive at the shop.
Rafe said: “It’s important that we act as a responsible retailer by supporting our local environment and making it easier for our customers to recycle packaging from the products they buy. They were really supportive of our Christmas card recycling service earlier this year and we hope they make this a cracking success too.”
The Easter egg recycling point is at the front of the store and will be running until Wednesday.
