The group are planning to speak at a public meeting on Thursday evening about their plan, which includes an added slipway at the car park, floodgates, and spaces for trailers.
The plan follows the group’s decade-long work to add a slipway in Shoreham, and believes Ferry Road is the last available site following a recent objection by the Sea Scouts for a slipway at the Adur Recreation Ground.

Secretary of the group Mike Wooldridge said: “My view is that the council is giving in to public pressure. There will be no slipway and we need to raise public awareness of this.
“The general public have not been shown our plan, but we believe it offers a more flexible, safer, more exciting, slipway friendly, maritime-heritage respectful option than that drawn up by the council’s consultant.
“This week could well be the last opportunity where it stands even a slender chance of being considered, owing to the pressure from residents – who probably are unaware of our plan – to get on and tidy the area up.”
