Still time to join Littlehampton Carnival parade
Organisers are putting the finishing touches to this year’s day-long event, which starts on the morning of Saturday, July 6, with a full programme of activities in the town centre, and culminates in the procession itself in the evening.
No one is looking forward to the big day more than Carnival Queen Megan Swift, 16, and her Princesses, Megan Quinnell, 16, and Natasha-Jane Townsend, 15.

Carnival president Freda Hughes said everything was falling into place, with a great parade already on the cards, but with some space still for latecomers keen to be part of the occasion.
More collectors are also needed for the procession, together with extra marshals. Anyone who can help should call Freda on 01903 716634.
The fun starts in the town’s centre’s pedestrian precinct at 10am, when town mayor Joyce Bowyer officially opens carnival day.
Next week’s Gazette will carry a full carnival preview (Thursday, July 4).
