Organisers Nick and Carol Ballinger, of Ambleside Road, used the opportunity to raise money for St Barnabas House hospice through a raffle, as they wanted to recognise the charitable work undertaken by the Queen during her reign.
A total of £77 was donated in memory of Martin Fiske, a close friend and neighbour for 30 years who died at the hospice on February 24, 2014.

“Martin spent his final moments at St Barnabas House, where the care he received was exceptional. Our thanks go out to everyone at the hospice for all the help and support they provide, not just to the patients but to their family and friends as well.
“On the day of our party, the weather was not very kind to us. However, those of us who did attend had a fabulous evening and we are sure Martin attended in spirit.
“We hope this small amount of money helps. It’s not much but it comes with such heart-filled happiness from a grateful community.”
