Student scores pitchside role in Wembley playoff clash
George Holmes, of Riders Bolt, wrote to more than 50 clubs trying to find a placement during his sports coaching degree at Lancashire University.
Only one - Blackpool United - responded, enlisting George as a performance analyst for their team. Now, his championship team are in with a chance of clinching a premier league spot if they beat Cardiff City at Wembley tomorrow (Saturday).

As battle for the play-off spot rages on the pitch, George will analyse his team's strengths and weaknesses, feeding back the information to manager Ian Holloway.
His work building a relationship with the club also benefits Lancashire University, which send students from this course on placements each year. After his placement is finished, George will finish his degree.
He added: "It took me a whole year but I got lucky with Blackpool. In all honesty I didn't think I'd get to the level I am at now."
