He studies sports science at the college and hopes to become a professional athlete one day and enter the Paralympics.
Thomas set up on an indoor rowing machine in the centre of the college refectory to carry out the gruelling 13.1 mile row using only his upper body strength.
Fellow student, Phil Wynn, supported Tom by rowing the full distance with him.
Staff and students also took turns to row alongside.
The task took Tom two hours and four minutes.
Students were touched by his determination and donated generously to the cause, resulting in Tom raising more than £200.
