The fatal crash saw the A27 closed in both directions for several hours, with every road around and through Chichester at a complete standstill until later that evening.
Sussex Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision, and in particular is asking for people who have any dash-cam footage to come forward as officers continue to investigate.
Anyone who can help is asked to contact the Sussex Serious Collision Investigation Unit at [email protected], or telephone 101, quoting Operation Anglican.
