Turner's Pies director thanks Bognor customers for inspiring him and his team
Phil, managing director of Turner’s Pies, says gauging the response to the company’s baked goods inspired him and his team to create Britain’s tastiest pies.
Turner’s Pies’ award-winning steak and ale pie was voted the supreme champion at the British Pie Awards in March when it saw off more than 950 other entries with judges giving it a score of 99 out of 100.

Phil says opening the new store, in Broadwater, Worthing, wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the good folk of Bognor. He said: “We owe a lot to our loyal customers in Bognor. It’s where it all started all those years ago when my great grandparents Eva and Reginal Turner started a business in a hotel in the town.
“The same applies to our customers in Chichester and Rustington and now we have expanded and moved into Worthing, too. We’re delighted to be able to open the shop here in Broadwater Street West and have been overwhelmed with the warm elcome we’ve had from everyone. It has a vibrant, village feel to the area and we’ve already encountered a lot of positivity.
“We’re eager to meet new customers and get their feedback on our pies, including everything from steak and stilton to mushroom and asparagus. And chicken and ham and steak and kidney are favourites, too, as well as our popular gluten-free options. Here at Turner’s Pies we pride ourselves in offering a convenient and delicious dinner for the whole family to enjoy. And if they can’t make it to the shop, they can take advantage of Pies by Post service!”
