Hide AdSuperintendent Jane Derrick, the head of the force’s roads policing unit, said: “A large proportion of those who we are arresting are being found behind the wheel in the early hours of the morning.
“If you think you can get away with drink-driving at 1am you should think again. Our officers are out on patrol looking for the slightest indication that you are unfit to be on the roads.
“You are not just putting your own life at risk, you are endangering everyone else using the roads.”
