UPDATE: Police appeal for help after Ford burglary assault
Officers were called to Ford Lane at 11.35am yesterday (Wednesday, June 18) after a resident was threatened at his home by a man who knocked on his door.
The man had been seen acting suspiciously in the area around Ford Lane and Rodney Crescent earlier.

Hide AdThe burglar attacked the victim and stole a quantity of cash before the resident fled to a neighbour and raised the alarm.
Detective Sergeant Jason Vickers, of Chichester CID, said: “This was an unusual incident is what is a peaceful and quiet area.
“Extra local neighbourhood patrols are currently in the area looking for the man and providing reassurance and they will answer questions from members of the community who have any concerns.”
The attacker was black, in his 20s, of medium build and about 5ft 11ins. He was clean shaven and had a small gap between his front teeth.

Hide AdHe was smartly dressed, wearing beige Chino-style trousers, a green shirt and a beige jacket.
The victim was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester for treatment. He had suffered cuts and bruises although he was very shaken.
Officers were in the area yesterday afternoon conducting door to door inquires.
