Hide AdReason roadworks cannot be lifted for Spring bank holiday: there are narrow lanes in place, keeping the same number of lanes running, overnight closures are lifted through the bank holiday, but it would not be safe or practical to remove the variguard, narrow lanes or speed limit. It would take at least 4 nights to remove the traffic management and another 4+ to set it out again, the cost and time implications and increased risk to road workers removing and setting out the traffic management are too great for very little change for road users. There would also be safety implications for road users as safety barrier has been removed behind the variguard barriers as part of site clearance work. The narrow lanes and 40mph limit will remain in place over the Spring bank holiday.
