Youngsters takeover school as Pudsey calls in with BBC
The BBC chose to visit the school to film a special assembly on Children in Need because it coincided with the school’s annual Takeover Day. Takeover day Head Teacher Gemma says it was a special day for the school’s Year 6’ pupils.
“It was a day when some of them were fortunate enough to carry out the jobs of adults around the school,” she said.

Gemma says during the assembly, there was a power point presentation which was all about Children in Need. “It showed how the school raised money this year. They collected it in spotty wellington boots and then poured the donations into a spotty retro suitcase that was overflowing with all the money for charity!
“The children were so excited when they heard that Pudsey was going to be there to collect all the money that they had put in their wellington boots. Takeover day was a very exciting event because the BBC were there filming.”
The school’s collection for Children in Need raised a whopping £802.69 and Takeover Day Deputy Headteacher Jack says the day was full of excitement and unexpected happenings. “It was a great experience for all the Year 6 pupils that participated in this event,” he said.
