After qualifying for the Regional Novice Championships last year, their first affiliated season, they gained a wild card for the National Championships. But a suspected outbreak of strangles in the yard where they are based, meant they were unable to go. Joanne, who lives in Worthing, said:" Last year we won three novices and qualified for the Regionals, only for him to rip off a shoe and bruise his foot shortly before.
