Cornish: Title in our hands
Last weekend’s 4-1 win over Lewes III meant Cornish’s side continued its 100 per cent home record, and Saxons host leaders Brighton & Hove III at the start of next month.
“It’s up to us now,” Cornish said. “If we win all of our remaining matches, we’re champions. That starts tomorrow (Saturday) against Horsham III. If results go our way, we might even be top by Saturday night.”

Hide AdA Brighton loss to fourth-placed Mid-Sussex II coupled with a Saxons win would see them switch places. Bottom-of-the-table Horsham, incidentally, lost 9-1 to Brighton last weekend.
“Even a draw for Brighton would be a good result for us,” added Cornish. “We fear nobody when we’re playing at home. There’s a long way to go still, but it’s getting interesting now.”
