Horley mark historic day with trio of big wins over Ifield
The first XI played at Horley Row, captained by Jonathan Barnett. Ifield won the toss and batted and made 184-5 from 45 overs.
Ben Davies took three wickets for 46 from his nine overs, and Adam Stephenson 2-22 from five overs, including a caught and bowled to dismiss top-scoring opener Graeme Dean for 56.

Hide AdThere was a wicket apiece for Guy Derham, Sam Bracken and Sam Remfry, with Bracken, both Remfry brothers – Sam and Ben – and Ross Nel all taking catches.
Horley made light work of their reply, racing to 186-2 from just 27.3 overs to win by eight wickets.
The Remfry brothers put on 55 for the second wicket before Ben fell on 48. Sam Remfry and Nathan Baily then combined in an unbeaten partnership of 95 to win the match, with Baily not out 52 and Sam Remfry not out 50 at the close.
Horley’s second XI travelled to play their Ifield counterparts. Ifield elected to bat and Horley’s bowlers kept it tight early on with Chris Cosham taking two wickets before captain Darren Croft came on and took four wickets for 13-runs.

Hide AdThree late run outs finished off the Ifield innings for 74 all out
Horley’s reply started well, but then Andrew Thomas (11 runs) and Richard Waddington (22) got out in quick succession.
However, Lewis Tomkins made 22 not out and Dave Hyde seven not out to see Horley over the line to win by eight wickets in 19 overs.
The history-making Horley third XI beat Ifield third XI by 107-runs. Playing away, at the picturesque Bolney ground, Jorell Wildman did a great job of captaining the Horley team that featured five teenagers.

Hide AdKieran Childs and Alex Field gave Horley a strong start, putting on 62 for the first wicket.
Duncan Jee, playing for the first time in a couple of decades, top-scored with 42, Childs made 36, Bailey Warren 33 and Field 24 as Horley scored 197-6 in 40 overs.
Scott Puttocks and Raj Cherodian took two wickets each for Ifield.
Evan Grimwood took an early wicket in Ifield’s reply and Jack Jee then took two, one bowled and one caught by Childs, to reduce Ifield to 29-3.

Hide AdHorley continued to take regular wickets with Duncan Jee and Dave Bunn chipping in with two wickets apiece and Jack Jee running out two batters, the first with a superb direct hit from 40 metres away. Sheheryar Ahmed top-scored for Ifield with 28 before falling to Bunn.
When Steve Madden took a catch off Childs, Ifield were all out for 90 from 24.1 overs and Horley were comfortable winners.
The teams at all three matches honoured the Duke of Edinburgh by stopping play for a silence at 3pm.
