Saxons scored two goals in the first half and three in the second to win 5-3 at home to Penguin in what, at the start of play, was a clash of Sussex Open Hockey League Division One’s top two.
Although Saxons started strongly, dominating possession and creating many chances, it was Penguin who took a surprise lead after a Saxons lapse of concentration.

Soon afterwards, Toby Reed finished off a well-worked short corner to make it 2-1 at half time.
Saxons picked up in the second half where they left off in the first as Coombs added his second with a smart finish.
Saxons sustained the pressure with fast play and Coombs found Olli Beal, who finished off a fine passing move which started with good work from Tudor Stainsby.
