Crawley set to sign ex-West Ham midfielder and new goalkeeper

They will follow the arrival of former Crystal Palace and Plymouth Argyle winger Jason Banton, who was unveiled as the club’s second summer signing today.
Former Gillingham and Leyton Orient stopper Morris, 32, will also take on the role of goalkeeping coach at the Checkatrade Stadium.

Hide AdMeanwhile, ex-West Ham player Payne, who was at National League outfit Eastleigh last year, is seen as an extremely exciting signing by Drummy.
He said: “That’s the first of a few and it’s nice to get some signings on the board.
“With Jason, I had him as an Arsenal young player and I have watched his progress and I feel he can open up the way I want to play.
“With Josh Payne, I think he is an exciting player to work with. Matt (Gray) has know him in his past career and I think he is the type of midfielder, who will break up play for us, be aggressive and also get us going forwards.

Hide Ad“On the goalkeeping front, I think it was important we mixed someone that could cover and also coach, probably within the budget it’s a sensible decision to have someone that can not only coach, but can play if we get an injury in that specific position.”
