Injuries stack up for Horsham YMCA after ‘ugly’ Worthing Utd win
First half goals from Leroy Hyett and Ash Dugdale had the visitors two up at the break and cruising.
Dean Gilmour pulled one back after the break but Worthing couldn’t find an equaliser as Buckland’s boys saw out an unconvincing win.

Hide Ad“Six or seven weeks ago I would have gone down there expecting to win by five or so goals but with rumours of only one going down they are scrapping for their lives.
“The pitch was almost impossible to play on but still it was a comfortable victory, the scoreline flattered them really.
“Sometimes you have to win ugly and that’s what we did.”
With both Hyett and Harry Lowe limping off Buckland has real injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s trip to Hailsham, and for a busy end to the season.
“I’m not joking when I say I could field a team of injured players,” he said. “I’ve got seven first choice players out and now all four forwards are missing for Saturday.
“But we won’t go down to Hailsham with a defeatist attitude, sometimes it works in your favour because it gives others a chance to prove what they can do.”
