Pitch inspection for United game
Volunteers from the club have been working hard to clear The Pilot Field of surface water following the rain of yesterday evening and last night. United can ill-afford any more postponements as they are already playing every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday until the end of the season.
United groundsman Simon Rudkins wrote on social network site Twitter: “We will be having a final pitch inspection at 3pm. Now have plenty of help. Most water gone just working on small puddles. Thanks to everyone helping. Please no more rain.”

Elsewhere tonight, Rye United and Sidley United are due to meet in a Sussex County Football League Division One local derby at The Salts (kick-off 7.45pm) and a Bexhill United Legends XI will face the Lashings All-Stars at The Polegrove from 6pm.
Further news will follow later this afternoon.
