The nitiative calls on sporting organisations to acknowledge the contribution of the sports sector to climate change and their responsibility to strive towards climate neutrality for a safer planet.
By signing the framework, Shoreham say they have demonstrated a commitment to playing a part in ensuring the sports sector is on the path to a low-carbon future.

* Promote greater environmental responsibility
* Reduce the overall climate impact from sports
* Use our platform to educate for climate action
* Promote sustainable and responsible consumption
* Advocate for climate action through our communications.
Speaking at the launch event for the framework, UNFCCC executive secretary Patricia Espinosa said sports organisations and athletes were in a unique position in the race against climate change “because sports touches on every cross-section of society”.
To underline their commitment, Shoreham will be reducing their plastic consumption by ending the sale of plastic water bottles and pint containers to eco-friendly bottles and tumblers.
They’ll use bio recyclable catering products, low consumption LED lighting, switch to a zero-carbon electricity supplier and encourage fans to use public transport.
