Former Lewes Rugby Club stalwarts pass away within hours of one another
Mickey was a former Chairman of the Club who played together with Marcus during the' 70's and'80's, and was founder of the William Webb Ellis Morris Dancers, comprised of players from both Lewes and Brighton rugby clubs, which entertained many crowds - both home and abroad - for some 17 years. He was also the author of the Club's famous Christmas Pantomimes, which had risque (adult!) titles.

Hide AdMarcus turned to community service after retiring from the game, becoming Vicar of Rodmell and a Governor at the nearby Northease Manor School.
Both participated in the relay runs between Blois (Lewes's Twin-Town in France) and the Club in the '80's, running in relay sections for the 185-mile route and raising money for local Lewes-based charities.
The Club sends it sympathies and condolences to Avril, Rachel, Jenny and their families.
