Running in memory of Oliver: Hastings club set for 48 hours of relays

The club have been completing virtual challenges to keep athletes motivated during the lockdown and have gained more than 100 members since March, when they became affiliated with England Athletics.
Keen to put their virtual efforts to good use, they decided to support a local charity that relies heavily on the Hastings Half Marathon for fundraising and will lose that this year.

Hide AdHY members will complete a 48-hour running relay from 8pm on Friday, May 29, until 8pm on Sunday, May 30.
At least one runner will be running at all times, with hour slots for adults and 30-minute slots for juniors.
All will donate to the Oliver Curd Trust and are they hope their efforts will inspire others.
The Oliver Curd Trust was started in 2008 by Oliver’s parents, Richard and Sarah, in memory of him. Oliver was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in 2006, and he died in 2007.
