Video: Bowls tournament success
More than 60 players from far and wide descended on Falaise Indoor Bowls Club in Hastings last weekend for a high quality event which was part of the national planetbowls.com open singles circuit.
Tournament organiser Gareth Heard said: “I got nothing but good comments which I’m really pleased with. It ran as smoothly as I could’ve hoped for the first time, and I’m hoping to make it bigger and better next year for a full weekend.

Josh Grant (Croydon IBC) was the eventual winner after beating Lee Dickson (Richmond IBC) in the final on Sunday evening. Grant pulled away from 2-2 to take the first set 6-3 and from 1-1 to clinch the second 7-1.
Peter Morgan (Preston IBC, Brighton) and Rob Meason (Falcon IBC, Essex) were the losing semi-finalists, while Keith Cheetham was the most successful local player.
He got to the quarter-finals by edging out Falaise clubmate Martin Heitzman on a tie-break in the last 16. Heard was among four Falaise bowlers to reach the last 16 on Saturday night.
The event - which attracted large numbers of spectators - was sponsored by DD Catering, Glazed Bullies, Bohemia Motors and Sifu Neil Gould, who runs www.1066wingchunschools.org
