Volley good show on a difficult day for Chichester students
A number of teams crashed out of BUCS Cup at the last-16 stage, while in the league the women’s football first team lost a close encounter at the Bishop Otter campus.

The men turned in an exceptional display to defeat Goldsmiths 3-1 away from home in their first game in the national cup.
After taking the match to three sets, Chichester finally pulled away after a sly tip from Sam Woolley. Consistent service from Ryan Gunner put Chichester further in the lead and some powerful spikes from Jack Lee and Jack Murrell meant Goldsmiths were unable to return the ball.
The final score left Chichester victorious - a very positive start for the men’s team as they start their battle to win silverware.
They face Sussex for a home game in the next round.

Led by captain Freya Glaseby, they won 45-34 to progress to the trophy quarter-finals.
Another side to march into the cup quarter-finals were the men’s basketball first team, led by an awesome perimeter shooting display from guard Jack Green, who landed eight three-pointers in a 32-point return, Chichester eventual winners 89-63.
