Hide AdSue Worthington, head of the carnival committee, said: “They are all naughty, noisy, happy, samba pirates and are all looking forward to celebrating the spirit of carnival with the people of Worthing. Captain Jack is going to help us to collect all the pieces of eight and gold doubloons from the generous folk along the route: with cries of ‘avast there’ and ‘splice the mainbrace’. He promises not to make anyone walk the plank!”
The winners of the high schools prom King and Queen competition will be in the parade.
Rotary have teamed up with Stevens funfair and Barties Boutique markets who will be on the prom. Grove Lodge vets will be holding its dog show, once again, in Steyne Gardens from 12.30pm.
The live stage entertainment in Steyne Gardens has been organised by Derech Rollinson of Ivy Arch Studios with Cookie Jones from Worthing Sunshine Radio as compere. Therw will be food stalls, a beer tent, plus various activities taking place.

Hide AdSue added: “We are delighted with the support we have received from Worthing to make this year a success. We know we have set ourselves a challenge but we are proud of our town and want everyone to know it. The masquerade carnival is a completely new idea and something that everyone can enjoy and take precious new memories from. Our ultimate goal is simply that everyone has a great time.”
