POLICE are appealing for information after burglars attacked three houses overnight in Colwell Road and Wivelsfield Road, Haywards Heath.

Mobile phones, cash and other small items were stolen from the houses in separate incidents whilst the owners slept. The thefts all took place between Thursday, August 8, and Friday, August 9.

Inspector Ed Henriet, of Haywards Heath Police, said: "This can be a problem at this time of year as leaving ground floor windows open can present an opportunity for burglars to gain access to a house. We would also advise people to keep their houses secure and not to leave any keys in the door.

"We would urge anybody who hears anything in the small hours of the night such as windows breaking or people creeping through gardens to ring us and we will respond to that call as soon as possible."

Anyone with information is asked to contact DS Griffiths on 0845 60 70 999 extension 35249.
