A Hastings-born speedway rider is revving up for the biggest meeting of his career this evening.
Edward Kennett will take on the sport's finest in front of more than 40,000 fans in the British Grand Prix at The Millennium Stadium, Cardiff.

The 21-year-old Eastbourne Eagles ace has received a wildcard entry into the Sky Sports-televised event having been a reserve for the last three years.

His first ride will come in heat three where he will line-up against 2007 World Champion Nicki Pedersen, 2006 World Champion Jason Crump and Krzysztof Kasprzak.

Kennett, a two-time Great Britain Under-21 Champion and Great Britain international, and Hastings-based Lee Richardson are attempting to qualify for next year's Grand Prix series.
