The Hastings & District Table Tennis Association is mourning the death of stalwart player Dennis Thunder.
Dennis passed away on Monday morning at the age of 75 having represented Monarchs Table Tennis Club for around 40 years.

Monarchs TTC president Frank Blackford said: "He was always dedicated, always trying to win, but fairness was his attitude."

A bricklayer by trade, Dennis played in Divisions One, Two, Three and Four of the Hastings League, and was Monarchs secretary for a couple of years.

He was a good all-round sportsman, also playing football, cricket and golf, but table tennis was his main hobby and he even played one match last season.

The funeral will take place at Hastings Crematorium on Wednesday July 2 from 11am (no flowers). Donations can be made to St Michael's Hospice.
